Finishing Techniques

As we move into production, PacTec’s experts will select the best finishing techniques to meet your product’s aesthetic and durability requirements.

These finishing processes include:

  • Screen Printing — Also known as silkscreen printing, this process precisely transfers color ink, using a fine mesh screen. Screen printing is an excellent option for large parts and is budget-friendly.
  • Pad Printing – Also called tampography, pad printing transfers a two-dimensional image onto a three-dimensional object. This process works well for small parts and parts with slight curvature. It also allows for the use of multiple colors within a single process.
  • Painting – A painted finish can achieve a custom color on a wide range of materials. In addition to this aesthetic advantage, painting offers a high gloss level, and a clear coat adds to the durability of the part. Painting also can cover hard-to-reach areas, including sidewalls.

Additional Finishing Techniques

Hot Stamping — Also known as foil stamping, hot stamping utilizes heat and pressure to transfer a printed image from a foil material. Instead of fluid ink, colored film is used in this process. The result is a durable and long-lasting finish.

Assembled Overlay – Overlays usually come in the form of a decorative sticker or label with multiple different colors, finishes, and a variety of different durability coatings all contained within the label.
