Assembly

From Design to Final Product

At PacTec, when we say we are with you every step of the way in the creation of your product, we mean it. Not only can we work with you on the design and manufacture of your parts, but we can handle the assembly as well.

You can count on our process expertise to provide you with a reliable product assembly. When you receive a part that has already been put together, you reduce your in-house costs and labor demands and save valuable time.

Assembly Techniques: Heat Staking, Ultrasonic Welding, and Snap Fit Designs

Our company’s decades of experience in multiple assembly processes enables us to select the best assembly process for your product. The processes include:

Heat Staking – Also known as thermoplastic staking, this process joins two different materials by locally heating and cooling the plastic components to reshape them.

Ultrasonic Welding – Ultrasonic welding uses high-frequency sound waves to generate heat and join materials together. This technique softens the plastic so that it forms a solid weld when cooled.

Snap Fit Designs – Snap fit design refers to a joint mechanism with interlocking parts that can be easily assembled or disassembled without additional tools or fasteners. The shapes of the interlocking parts determine how much force is needed to separate them, if they can be separated at all.

Comprehensive Hardware Assembly and Finishing Solutions: Labels, Adhesives, Shrink Wrap, and More

PacTec is committed to providing exceptional assembly solutions tailored to your specific requirements. By thoroughly evaluating the complete product, we design an efficient and cohesive assembly process for the entire unit. Whether you opt for PacTec’s expert assembly services or decide to assemble the components independently, we ensure the most economical methods and materials are utilized, offering you unparalleled value and reliability.

Hardware assembly – Hardware assembly typically refers to parts that are joined together with screws, bolts, nuts, gears, and other small parts.

Labels – Decorative labels need to be applied just right.  They often contain your brand identity or critical information about your product.  We have decades of experience applying decorative labels (such as a Duralens) and overlays to parts with highly precise and consistent location and appearance.

Tape adhesive application – We can use adhesives to bond objects together in place of fasteners, bolts, or screws or using welding. Using an adhesive lowers temperature applications, often simplifying the manufacturing processes. We can recommend the right adhesive for your application based on whether it will be used indoors or outdoors and the type of substrate you will be bonding to.

Shrink Wrap – When heat is applied, the polymer material shrinks tightly around the item, creating a clear and durable protective barrier for the packaged good.

Barcoding – We can apply barcodes that contain detailed information about a part, such as its manufacturing date and location. Depending on your logistics, barcodes are valuable for tracking products throughout the manufacturing, production, and distribution processes, ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management.

Jig/Fixture Building – Utilize our team’s experience with fixtures and jigs to aid in the assembly of our components to your final product resulting in increased efficiency and accurate assembly.
